Cake is Startup of the Year

By Davy Kestens

Cake has been awarded “Startup of the Year” at the Data News Awards for Excellence. And we are of course extremely excited about that!

Cake has been awarded “Startup of the Year” at the Data News Awards for Excellence.

The Data News Awards for Excellence are organized each year by the industry-leading magazine DataNews. This year’s 21st edition of the Data News Awards for Excellence does not take place in the presence of more than 1,000 guests. Obviously, we don’t have to look far to find a reason: covid-19.

The finalists and winners in 14 categories will therefore gradually be announced in a daily live video on the DataNews website starting today until 28 September. Today, the Belgian Startup and Scaleup of the year were announced.

And, tadaa …
🚀 Cake became “Startup of the Year” !

We are so happy with that!

The jury praised Cake for the unique concept of the app and the technological innovation. But especially the fact that we process data and generate insights out of it for both Cake users and companies convinced the jury. Our growth ambition and the relative maturity of the company also played a role in the jury’s decision.

After a public vote, a professional jury took the decision. The jury consisted of former CIO of the Year winners and a wide representation from the sector, including Stijn Viaene, Kristof Van der Stadt, Peter Hinssen, Filip Michiels and many more.

The handing out to Cake CEO and co-founder Davy Kestens can be watched here.
